About Bashir Al Hussein Al Awamlh, MD, MPH
Dr. Bashir Al Hussein is a Urologic Oncologist and Assistant Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan, his hometown. He completed his Urology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian /Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by a Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Additionally, he earned a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Epidemiology, from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Al Hussein's research interests include applying epidemiological methods to improve care quality for cancer patients, focusing on decision-making, survivorship, and disparities stemming from social determinants of health. His work has led to publications in journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the New England Journal of Medicine, and JAMA Internal Medicine. He also is a recipient of the American Urological Association Research Scholar Award.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Al Hussein is committed to providing patient-centered care, leveraging both robotic and traditional open surgical approaches to effectively manage genitourinary cancers.
